The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has revealed their short list for Best Foreign Language Film in 2012. 71 films were submitted for consideration earlier this year. Now nine films have advanced to the next round of voting.
The final nominations will be announced on January 10th.

A Royal Affair, dir Nikolaj Arcel;

The Intouchables, dirs Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano;
Iceland –
The Deep, dir Baltasar Kormákur;
Norway –
Kon-Tiki, dirs. Joachim Rřnning and Espen Sandberg;
Romania –
Beyond The Hills, dir Cristian Mungiu;
Switzerland –
Sister, dir Ursula Meier.
