Determined to ensure Superman's ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne aligns forces with Diana Prince with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.

Zack Snyder's Justice League arrives: the “Snyder Cut” (as fans dubbed it) is a more faithful presentation of the filmmaker's original vision (before Warner Bros. took over control of the theatrical-release production). Produced by Charles Roven (Wonder Woman, The Dark Knight) and Deborah Snyder (Watchmen, Army of the Dead), the Snyder cut runs over four hours long and is a action-packed extravaganza with a more complex storyline.
The Justice League is formed: Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and The Flash (Ezra Miller). A new threat faces the League as the villain Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds) battles it out with the Amazons and attempts to take control of the Mother Box (which would change the Earth's atmosphere to be reminiscent of the home- planet of Apokolips.
The production of Zack Snyder's Justice League is vastly superior to the Joss Whedon cut of Justice League. This begins with the lavishly detailed production design by Patrick Tatopoulos (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil). The production looks massive in scope (alongside cutting-edge special effects far more polished in the Snyder cut).
The cinematography by Fabian Wagner (Game of Thrones, Overlord) is a unique beast in comparison to the theatrical cut. The Snyder version has a much darker color palette (even in the color version, the presentation looks different than the “bright” looking theatrical version). (Zack Snyder also produced a “Black and White: Justice is Gray” edition available on HBO Max).
Justice at last.
The music score composed by Junkie XL (Deadpool, Godzilla vs. Kong) is epic in scope and makes the experience that- much-more epic. The music ebbs and flows with a pulsating energy that provides a perfect backdrop to each of the action scenes. During dramatic scenes, Junkie XL's compositions add greater depth and emotional gravitas.
The production of Zack Snyder's Justice League is a significant improvement over the theatrical cut (which Warner Bros. maligned with too much artistic interference behind-the-scenes). Snyder has a much wider playing field as a filmmaker with this four-hour long comic-book opus. Director Zack Snyder (Sucker Punch, 300) brings the screenplay by Chris Terrio (Argo, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice) to life.
The stakes are higher. The emotional weight of the film is greater. The action is more intense. Snyder didn't completely make-the-mark with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice but with Zack Snyder's Justice League the filmmaker is at last redeemed. Don't miss it.

Arriving on 4K UHD, Zack Snyder's Justice League is presented in the original aspect ratio of 1.33:1 full frame. The scope ratio was the result of Snyder producing the feature-film with IMAX in mind (shooting the entire film with IMAX cameras). The 4:3 ratio has been preserved to maintain artistic integrity. For additional information on the video-quality, please refer to the review by my colleague Randy Miller III.
The release includes a Dolby Atmos surround sound presentation. For additional information on the audio-quality, please refer to the review by my colleague Randy Miller III.
The collectors edition steelbook release comes in exclusive collectible packaging. The steelbook design is stunning and uses a wonderful piece of art for the main cover-art. The central heroes are united as one – their arms outstretched in victory. The back art-work is somewhat bland looking by comparison.
The interior art-work is impressive and features the united Justice League in a signature pose. The release is unfortunately only a matte-finish and could have benefited from a high-gloss finish. Instead, the steelbook is only "average" in regards to the manufacturing process. (Fans desiring the best print-quality will want to double-dip for premium Manta Lab or HDZETA releases).

Zack Snyder's Justice League is one of the best achievements in the filmmaker's canon. The superhero epic redeems the shortcomings of Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and takes flight with epic storytelling and exciting action-packed adventure. The Snyder cut is legions better than the theatrical release assembled by Joss Whedon. (One of the best improvements is in Cyborg's expanded role). The film is a must-see comic-book epic. Zack Snyder's Justice League has received justice at last. Highly recommended.
