Competing the story begun in 2024's 'Wicked' , 'Wicked: For Good' arrives on 4K UHD disc in this massive 'Wicked: For Good: Amazon Exclusive Limited Edition Giftset 4K' courtesy of Universal. Starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Ariana Grande as Glinda, and backed by Michelle Yeoh (Madame Morrible) and Jeff Goldblum (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz), the brilliant cast returns to take viewers on the final portion of this toe-tappingly tragic, triumphant, humorous, and heartfelt journey. Based on the book by Gregory Maguire and the smash Broadway musical, the film grossed over half-a-billion dollars upon its original theatrical release. Boasting reference-quality technical specifications, the release also features a variety of on-disc supplemental material, such as a "Sing-Along" version, deleted and extended scenes, and a feature commentary to name a few. This giftset includes a 4K UHD disc with an exclusive foil-enhanced slipcover with a gatefold, a gold-toned metal keepsake box, and a certificate of authenticity, all housed in a deluxe box with a magnetic closure. A Blu-ray, and a Digital Code redeemable through Movies Anywhere are also included. The giftset is limited to 3000 units. Wicked: For Good 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras 

Not nearly as big as the previous Wicked: Amazon Exclusive Limited Edition Giftset 4K which weighed in at 17 pounds and had exterior dimensions measuring approximately 17.5" wide, 13.5" high, and 8" deep, the dimensions of the Wicked: For Good: Amazon Exclusive Limited Edition 4K's pink outer box measures roughly 10.5" wide, x 6.5" deep, and 8.5" high, and it tips the scales at a respectable 8 pounds, 14 ounces. The film's title appears in gold foil on the box's lid. Opening the lid, we're greeted by an image of Grande's Glinda and Erivo's Elphaba. Glinda is rendered and pinkish purples while Elphaba is rendered fittingly in greens.

The top layer of the interior packaging is a tray which holds the slipcovered 4K UHD disc case. The tray has a molded finger indent for easy removal of the disc. The cover of the exclusive slip is home to an image of the two female characters standing opposite each other on a circular section of The Yellow Brick Road. Due to the positioning of the photo's light sources, their shadows meld to form a dramatic "W". Opening the gatefold, we're again treated to another dramatic image of the two main characters. In the foreground, the two stand atop two rocky ledges, between which The Yellow Brick Road cuts and winds its way toward the gloomy Kiamo Ko which is centered in the distance. Glinda's side of the picture is awash with pinks and purples, while Elphaba's half is populated by gathering dark and stormy clouds. Still, the sun peaks out from behind the castle on her side of the image, perhaps indicating that there is yet some hope for the Wicked Witch of the West. The gatefold is held closed by a Velcro dot closure. All outer surfaces of the slipcover benefit from foil enhancements. The certificate of authenticity is found beneath the disc's case.

Removing the top tray, we see the main attraction of the set; the glittering gold-tone metal keepsake box. The top of of the box is modeled after the fantastic buildings of Emerald City. The bottom is merely a pedestal with some occasional details. The two halves are nestled securely in foam. Removing them, we find that he bottom of the box is relatively light, and it's interior is lined with black velvet. The top however, comprises the vast majority of the keepsake box's weight and is quite hefty, indeed. Various green "gems" serve as windows for some of the shorter towers, while the the tall and slender one in the middle is home to pink "gems". The dimensions of the keepsake box's exterior are 5" deep, 5" wide, and 7" high. The box's interior is 1.5' deep. All measurements are approximate. The keepsake box is quite physically impressive.

Wicked: For Good 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation 

One thing's for certain, the final installment of the Wicked story has been changed from the source material. Whether or not it's for the better, or for good (or not), is going to be up to the viewer. Keep in mind this is a movie series based on a Broadway musical that was based on a book that relates to a classic film that was based on a thirteen-book series by L. Frank Baum that is now over 100 years old. For just as Gregory Maguire's novel made some modifications to Baum's tales, Chu, who usually stays true to the source material, makes the modifications he feels he must to make the story he wants to tell work for the big screen. And the story absolutely entertains as Glinda, Elphaba, and Fiyero take actions and make choices that lead them to their ultimate fates, be it wicked or good. Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum again turn in fantastic performances, and there's a wonderful cast around them, but this is absolutely Grande and Erivo's movie, and they carry it with ease. Enhanced by outstanding costumes, massive practical sets, top-notch effects, and enchanting musical numbers, the disc presents the film flawlessly.

Once again, with the Wicked: For Good: Amazon-Exclusive Limited Edition Giftset 4K hitting the market, the franchise's fans face a tough choice between three different editions of the film. There's the economical standard edition, and the attractive and slightly elevated Walmart-Exclusive Steelbook, in addition to this latest iteration. For many, I suspect the final decision will depend largely on the packaging choice they made with the previous film, with film fans aiming for consistency between the titles in the franchise. Regardless, this one definitely stands as Wicked: For Good 4K's most deluxe release. For those who obtain one, the new keepsake box is both dazzling and functional, and could easily be the focal point on any collector's shelf.
