Who Framed Roger Rabbit 4K Blu-ray Movie Review

Reviewed by Martin Liebman July 15, 2022

Disney and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive UHD SteelBook release for the popular 1988 hybrid live action-animation film 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the UHD wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras  3.5 of 5

Yellow! Disney's glossy, fingerprint attracting UHD SteelBook release for Who Framed Roger Rabbit is definitely very yellow. Yellow dominates the front and rear panels as the singular background color. The front panel features a sultry Jessica Rabbit, filling the length, with white skin broken up by red hair, her red dress, black gloves, and a little bit of facial color and features. In front of her is the title character, Roger Rabbit, who only stretches from the bottom to Jessica's bosom. His arms are extended to the side, and he is wearing his familiar polka dot clothing. The film's title in black runs across Jessica's bare chest. The rear panel features Judge Doom and Jessica Rabbit side by side. Their shadow merges and morphs into Roger. Some studio logos and legalese appear in black along the bottom. The spine is black with the film's title in white, center. An UltraHD logo has been placed at the top and a Touchstone logo at the bottom.

Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a sultry scene from the film depicting Jessica, left, performing a song on stage surrounded by her bandmates. An out of focus Roger appears far left.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation  4.0 of 5

This is a nice looking SteelBook. It's very loud and colorful and the inner print image is very attractive. The film is great and the UHD presentation is excellent. Highly recommended.
