A nerdy computer whiz and his best friend create the perfect woman. Like a computer-generated fairy godmother, the duo's out-of-this-world creation guides the pair through the pleasures and pitfalls of adolescence.

Arrow has released a SteelBook packaging variant for Director John Hughes' classic 1985 film 'Weird Science.' The on-disc (as well as booklet) content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

For its Weird Science SteelBook, which is texturally a bit smooth but not so glossy as to show excessive fingerprinting, Arrow
makes use of
some
familiar
images for the front and rear panels. On the front is one of the classic poster images with a bright silvery central light burst out of
which Lisa is
emerging, top
center. Gary and Wyatt are facing one another, left and right respectively, pumping fists and shouting in celebration that they have
made a woman of
their own. The film's title appears in its familiar script bottom center. There are a few reflective accents, including Lisa's earrings and
the film's title. On
the rear is one of the film's iconic shots depicting the newly born Lisa in a seductive pose, wearing her underwear and a cut-off shirt,
the background
bathed in a red light. A Universal logo and some legalese appear bottom center in black. As with the front, there is a reflective portion,
here the vertical
silvery streak behind Lisa. The spine carries over the front panel silver background. The film's title appears center. An Arrow logo has
been placed at the
top. Universal and Blu-ray logos appear at the bottom, as does a model number.
Inside, the booklet as well as an advertisement for other Arrow titles are tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone Blu-ray
disc is situated on
the right on its own hub. The inner print is a two-panel spread that depicts Gary and Wyatt, bras on their heads, in one of the film's
early pivotal scenes
as Lisa is about to come to life.

Arrow's release of this mid-1980s classic looks and sound terrific and the SteelBook is quite the looker, too. Classic images decorate the front and rear and a fun still from the film appears inside. Highly recommended.
