Warehouse 13: The Complete Series Blu-ray Movie Review

Reviewed by Justin Dekker July 8, 2024

SyFy's 'Warehouse 13: The Complete Series' returns to Blu-ray disc courtesy of Universal. This 15-disc set collects all 63 episodes of one of the channel's best shows along with a veritable warehouse full of extras including two animated web series, episode commentaries, and much more. Starring Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly, Saul Rubinek, Allison Scagliotti, and Genelle Williams, the series deftly mixes unique science fiction with healthy doses of comedy and drama to craft stories that are approachable, compelling, and entertaining. A slipcover houses the five cases (one for each season), but a Digital Code is not included.

It's been ten years since Warehouse 13 boxed up its last artifact. In our modern viewing environment with it's focus on streaming and the torrential amount of new content being added and marketed, it is sometimes possible to lose track of series that need to be remembered and revisited. Warehouse 13 is precisely one of those that shouldn't fall between the cracks. Over its five-year run, the show developed a sizeable fanbase with episodes that were a bit more brisk and light than the similarly themed (and modern classic) The X-Files, never getting as dark as some of that series' episodes, nor developing as complex (and sometimes unwieldy) a mythology. While some may view that as a negative, I find it makes Warehouse 13 appealing for all viewers regardless of their feelings toward science fiction. Viewing the series again a decade later, Warehouse 13 still holds up with the stories, acting, and effects having aged very well and the interplay and connections between the lead actors being primary factors of its success.

For a full appreciation and review of the series, please follow this link to my colleague Martin Liebman's review of the previous Blu-ray release of the series from 2016.

Warehouse 13: The Complete Series Blu-ray Movie, Video Quality  4.0 of 5

As the discs included in this set appear to be identical to those of the previous release, please follow this link for a review of the video presentation.

Warehouse 13: The Complete Series Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality  3.5 of 5

As the discs in this set appear to be identical to those found in previous release from 2016, please follow this link for an assessment of the English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless soundtrack. Those hoping that the original music would be restored to Season One's "Duped" will be disappointed, but the change in the music does not diminish the overall impact of the story. English SDH, German, and Italian subtitles are also available.

Warehouse 13: The Complete Series Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras  5.0 of 5

There appear to be slight cosmetic changes to the slipcase for this new release of Warehouse 13: The Complete Series. A black bar with the Blu-ray logo now adorns the top of the packaging, while the blue Blu-ray logo has been removed from the title graphic which now simply reads Warehouse 13: The Complete Series making it easy to distinguish between the two pressings. As the discs inside the cases contain the identical content and all legacy features have been brought forward, please follow this link for a complete listing of the massive amount of supplemental material.

Warehouse 13: The Complete Series Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation  4.0 of 5

Existing fans who didn't pick up the previous edition, and newcomers in the market for a perfectly binge-able and entertaining science fiction series will definitely want to add Warehouse 13: The Complete Series to their libraries. Fine actors, solid effects, engaging stories, and frequent appearances from CCH Pounder's (Justice League Unlimited, Sons of Anarchy) Mrs. Frederic will keep viewers coming back for episode after episode as Myka, Pete, and Artie embark on missions to keep the world safe from a seemingly endless number of dangerous artifacts. Technical merits are strong, and a vast assortment of special features should satisfy even the most curious viewers. Warehouse 13: The Complete Series comes highly recommended.
