Even if Brock Lesnar isn't literally the biggest thing in the WWE -- Big Show and Mark Henry would beg to differ, and Braun Strowman seems poised to become the company's most dominant big man -- he's at least amongst the biggest draws. Or is he? The ex-superstar turned champion MMA fighter again turned WWE superstar is but a part-timer on Monday Night RAW and the Pay-Per-View schedule. He makes a splash whenever and wherever he shows up, that's for sure. He's truly a gifted physical specimen and, true to his nickname, a beast in the ring. But can someone who only shows up every now and then really be all that? He certainly thinks so. In Brock Lesnar: Eat. Sleep. Conquer. Repeat., the superstar talks up his life and purpose, which is, essentially, to push everyone else aside and prove that he's the best. It's too bad he can't do that on a weekly basis, but maybe there's something to be said about the aura, the lurking presence that even a John Cena can't really capture if he's ever-present on the scene. Lesnar, though still much closer to his prime than other aging part-timers, has ascended into that Undertaker category where the hype often seems bigger than the actual appearance, though he can certainly still bring it in the ring, sending superstars flying with a seemingly endless barrage of suplexes and F5s.

The Beast...The Conqueror...

Brock Lesnar: Eat. Sleep. Conquer. Repeat.'s 1080i transfer presents a mixed-bag of sources and qualities. Older SD footage has been reformatted to the 1.78:1-frame, though the matches themselves maintain the original aspect ratio integrity at 4x3. The new HD material, a few interview clips on disc one, more on disc two, and some matches form the HD era, generally look fine, yielding the typical WWE appearance. Skin textures, sweat, tattoos, and other on-wreslter details prove impressively defined and very sharp even beyond extreme close-up shots. Mild background blocking is visible at times. A few HD interview shots are softer and much more poorly defined. Color are fine, generally, nicely vibrant and natural, capturing all the colorful fuss around the WWE arenas. Black levels into the shadows of various venues hold true.

Brock Lesnar: Eat. Sleep. Conquer. Repeat.'s Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack gets the job done, no more and no less. It's technically fine but sonically unremarkable. Dialogue dominates the vast majority of the program, whether Lesnar interview snippets, voiceovers, or ringside action calls. It's always well prioritized and adequately clear with a stable center presence. Music is suitably energetic and spreads nicely as necessary, boasting solid instrumental clarity, fair front end spacing, and mild surround support.

Brock Lesnar: Eat. Sleep. Conquer. Repeat. contains five additional matches from 2014 forward on disc two, all labeled as "Blu-ray Exclusives."

Brock Lesnar: Eat. Sleep. Conquer. Repeat. is a disappointing release. The matches are terrific, no question about that, but WWE Home Video would have been better served to release this as a full-on match compilation rather than try to cram in some old, dated fluff. Nevertheless, Lesnar fans should enjoy the journey through some of the key matches from his storied career, and Steelbook fans can even pick up a copy in the fancy packaging exclusively at Best Buy. Video and audio are absolutely typical of the average WWE Home Video Blu-ray release, and supplemental content is limited to a few additional matches on disc two. This one's only worth a buy for hardcore Lesnar and WWE fans or WWE Home Video collectors.
