Universal has released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the classic 1958 Alfred Hitchcock masterpiece 'Vertigo.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release, which was previously only available as part of the Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

The Vertigo SteelBook: a stunner, While Universal has simply repurposed existing artwork, it's iconic artwork with the orange
background, the white spirals, the bodies center, and the film's title in black letters top and left of center, with cast and crew listed top left. Some
embossing/debossing work might have made it even better, but it looks awfully good (and feels good in the hand, too; it's matte rather than glossy).
The rear panel holds to the same orange background. A white Hitchcock profile fills much of the frame. Centered in Hitch's head is the Golden Gate
Bridge, below an image of Scottie, black, pulling Madeline, orange, from the bay. Hitchcock's signature appears in orange bottom right. Some assorted
studio logos and
legalese appear in the bottom corners. The spine is orange with the film's title in black, center, just as it appears on the front. A small white Universal
logo appears at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a still image from the film: Stewart and Novak in an iconic scene from
the film, embracing, in a parallel position, he on the top, she on the bottom. Their faces are firmly on the left-hand side.

This is a classy SteelBook for a classy film. It looks wonderful, feels good in the hand, it'll stand out on the shelf, and of course the movie is one of the best ever made and the UHD is first-rate. This SteelBook is a must-own.
