Sony and Best Buy have collaborated on a "Project Pop Art" UHD SteelBook release for the hit Anti-Superhero film 'Venom' starring Tom Hardy as the title character. This SteelBook release includes the same two discs that are included in the film's wide release UHD: the film on UHD and Blu-ray, the latter of which includes various supplements. For more on this SteelBook's look and feel, see the 'Special Features and Extras' section below for more detail.

The SteelBook, part of the popular "Project Pop Art" line from Best Buy, is impressively constructed. The SteelBook is constructed primarily of a black
material, a bit more tactile (and less fingerprint prone) than the many smoother and glossier SteelBooks on the market. The front features a profile
artistic rendering of Venom, including all of the sinewy structures in the back of the mouth, the razor-sharp teeth, and the grotesquely long and slim
tongue. The rear side features a symbiote emerging and forming into recognizable shape out of a LIFE Foundation container. A small, unobtrusive artist
signature appears on the bottom-right. The spine cares over the black coloring. The film's title appears in modestly sized and stylized print in the
center. The only additional element is a small Columbia Pictures logo on the bottom.
Inside, the UHD and Blu-ray discs share the right
hand
side in staggered-stacked formation. There is no inner artwork; both panels are simply emblazoned in an attractive and somewhat glossy teal/aqua
color that is a nice offset from the outer shell black. The Movies Anywhere
digital copy flyer is also bundled inside underneath the left-hand side tabs.

Venom is tonally awkward, the performances are uneven, but the special effects are astounding and the entertainment value is certainly there. The SteelBook is gorgeous. Front and rear artwork is beautifully done and tasteful in simplicity (even if the subject is rather grotesque). The inside offers no distractions, just a nice, solid, relaxing color across both sides. Note that there is another SteelBook for the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack as well. Recommended.
