To celebrate their relationship with action star Jean-Claude Van Damme, Universal has issued the “Van Damme 5-Movie Action Pack,” a sampler of the screen hero’s early career during the 1990s. While “Street Fighter” and “The Quest” were previously issued on Blu-ray, “Lionheart” is making its format debut, while “Hard Target” and “Sudden Death” finally make their way to North America after debuting overseas last year. It’s a mixed bag of hits and misses, but what’s here is an accurate summation of Van Damme’s talents and big screen appeal, offering those new to the Muscles from Brussels a chance to catch up with his oeuvre. For longtime fans? Here’s five evenings of pure Van Dammage ready to be loaded up.
