A mobster's brain is transplanted into an ape who carries out his revenge in The Monster And The Girl. A mad scientist turns an ape into a beautiful, but deadly woman in Captive Wild Woman. Jungle Woman, the sequel to Captive Wild Woman, is an eerie thriller with all the danger of wild animals on the loose and a sexy killer on the prowl! Reviewed by Brian Orndorf June 10, 2020For the “Universal Horror Collection: Volume 5,” Shout Factory settles on a theme, collecting four features that detail the dangers of putting human brains and assorted glands into gorillas. Or something like that. The science isn’t perfect in 1941’s “The Monster and the Girl,” 1943’s “Captive Wild Woman,” 1944’s “Jungle Woman,” and 1945’s “Jungle Captive,” but oddity is consistent, with the latter three efforts forming a loose trilogy concerning the dangers and mysteries of a lustful ape woman in tiny outfits.
