Sony has released the 2016 Action/Horror franchise film 'Underworld: Blood Wars' to the UHD format. Sony previously released the film to UHD in 2017; this appears to be virtually identical in terms of video and audio presentations. The UHD disc features a new menu screen and adds a couple of extras not available on the previous UHD issue. Note that at time of writing this disc is only available as part of the five-film 'Underworld' UHD collection boxed set.
This appears to be the same 2160p/HDR transfer Sony used for the 2017 release. For a full video review, please click here.

This UHD release of Underworld: Blood Wars is slightly altered from the previous issue: there has been a menu redesign and the UHD disc
adds new extras while eliminating the categorized collection of "Moments" from the previous disc. The bundled Blu-ray disc is identical to that which
Sony issued in 2017. Please click here for full coverage of the existing content
(for convenience below is a list of what's included). As it ships in the five-film Underworld collection, a Movies Anywhere digital copy voucher and a
non-embossed slipcover are included.
UHD:
Underworld: Blood Wars amounts to little more than franchise filler, a movie that's a step away from DTV fodder. It never sparks the imagination or tries to do anything different; even the Nordic Vampires offer little real reprieve from the series' trademark visual style. Action is bland, story mechanics are convoluted, the movie gives no real reason for the audience to care, particularly the casual crowd. This is a movie made strictly for the franchise's fanbase; anyone else is going to feel lost, and likely bored. Sony's UHD is excellent. Video is, by-and-large, a step or two above the Blu-ray, while the Atmos track offers a larger, more filling listen. A couple of brief new supplements are included on the UHD. Worth a look for its technical presentation.
