Uncharted 4K Blu-ray Movie Review

Sony has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the 2022 video game-based film 'Uncharted.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Uncharted 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras 

Sony's Uncharted SteelBook is matte; it will not readily show handling fingerprints. The front image, which is largely made of shades of green, depicts a famous scene from the film in which Nathan Drake is hanging on for dear life along a string of connected parcels hanging out of the back of a cargo plane. Behind him is a very crude globe with various cities marked. The film's title appears bottom, slanted downward in a mildly green tinted white color. The rear panel features a number of circles against a lightly visible compass of sorts. The spine features the film's title in blocky beige-to-brown letters. A Columbia logo in black appears at the bottom.

Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features Drake and Sully standing on the left and a derelict ship on the right. Note that this SteelBook also ships with a replica of the necklace Nathan Drake wears around his neck; it's a silver ring, imprinted inside and out with text, tied to a brown leather-like strap.

It's appropriate that a middling movie earns a middling SteelBook. It's busy and very green and not particularly all that memorable. The inside is uninspired. The A/V presentation and supplements are fine, however. For collectors only.
