Trolls World Tour 4K Blu-ray Movie Review

Reviewed by Martin Liebman July 10, 2020

Universal and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the colorful, musically inclined sequel 'Trolls World Tour.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Trolls World Tour 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras  2.5 of 5

Trolls World Tour's SteelBook is slick and glossy but since it's fairly colorful it's not going to show fingerprints in excess. The front image features the film's title, center, the world "Trolls" in sparkly silver and the words "World Tour" in rainbow. Rainbow colors appear around the rest of the cover, and around the permitter extend several hands from the top, bottom, and sides, each in the "sign of the horns" or "rock on" gesture. There's one hand from each of the six musical tribes plus a couple of extra goodies scattered about. The rear panel is also rainbow colorful and glittery, but it features a single center image, Disney-like, depicting a silvery troll within a Yin and Yang-type symbol that is colorful on one half and black on the other. DreamWorks and Universal logos appear bottom center along with some legalese. A model number appears on the bottom right. The spine is not quite so loud. It's a fairly deep purple/blue color with the film's title in silvery sparkle/rainbow colors center. A small DreamWorks logo can be seen at the bottom.

Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features a reproduction of the big, colorful underwater rave. Even though the top end is fairly dark the bottom half or so is fairly colorful. It's actually a nice contrast to the loud tones that define the outside, something a little more subdued yet still with color in abundance. Well done.

Trolls World Tour 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation  4.0 of 5

Trolls World Tour's SteelBook is every bit the showman one would expect it to be. It's bright and bold front and back but is a little more subdued inside and on the spine. It's well done, as is both the movie and the UHD technical content. Recommended.
