The 'Tremors: 7-Movie Collection' arrives on Blu-ray courtesy of Universal with this Walmart Exclusive Limited Edition Glow-In-The-Dark SteelBook. The seven films are housed on five discs which are identical to those found in the wide release of the 'Tremors: 7-Movie Collection'. Please scroll down to the 'Special Features and Extras' section below for a discussion of this new steelbook. A Digital Code is also included.

The two discs included in this set that house the first four films are identical to those found in the Tremors: Attack Pack from 2013. As such, their transfers are slightly
improved over the original releases, with a bit less noise reduction on display, but they are still grainy and occasionally soft. They aren't perfect
transfers, but they are perfectly watchable. The discs for Tremors 5: Bloodlines, Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell, and Tremors:
Shrieker Island match those of their previous releases and possess the strongest transfers of the set. For an assessment of the 1080p
presentations of each of the included films, please follow the links below.

The Universal Tremors: 7-Movie Collection Walmart Exclusive Limited Edition Glow-in-the-Dark SteelBook features a Graboid erupting from the ground in the middle of the cover with the title of the release centered over it. The cover features a dramatic orange and black color scheme, with the image fading to a solid black toward the edges. The reverse side maintains the same color scheme and features an image of Perfection's residents prepared to defend themselves against the monsters and save their lives and their town. It's simple but evocative. It is very easy to detect both visually, and by touch, which elements on the front and back covers will glow. In order to capture the glow-in-the-dark images, I opened the case and placed it face-down for 30 minutes in direct sunlight before taking the pictures in a dark room. In keeping with the cover image, the interior print also features artwork of the monsters instead of stills from the films. The spine leverages the same color scheme, which is orange fading to black at the edges, and sports the title in fonts identical to those used on the cover in white, easy-to-read letters. The matte finish used here should resist fingerprints. Also, as shown in this review's last image, even those who don't normally save J-cards will want to do so for this steelbook, as the inside of the card is the only place the data on the films is included. Oddly, as seen in the picture below, the steelbook used here does not have a hub for each of the included discs, with Tremors: Shrieker Island placed in a paper disc sleeve that floats free inside the SteelBook. On the copy I received, at least, the claps connected well enough that it effectively remained closed even with the "loose" disc inside. For a discussion of the on-disc supplemental material, please follow the links above. (Please note: the "BD-Live Functionality and News Ticker" and "My Scenes Bookmarking" features have been deleted from the first film for this release.)

One of the things I enjoy most about Universal's glow-in-the-dark SteelBooks is how the format forces artists to distill the film down to one simple picture - an image that strikes at the heart of the film. It's no surprise that the monster takes center stage here, and the Tremors: 7-Movie Collection Walmart Exclusive Limited Edition Glow-In-The-Dark SteelBook looks as good with the lights off as it does with the lights on. While the storage solution for the discs isn't ideal, it does what it needs to do. For fans of the franchise and SteelBook collectors, graboid this one while you can. Strongly recommended
