Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 4K Blu-ray Movie Review

Reviewed by Martin Liebman October 8, 2023

Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the 2023 franchise film 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Paramount's glossy SteelBook will show some handling fingerprints in the darker areas. The front panel depicts an artistic rendering of Optimus Prime's face, facing forward, with paint streaks dripping down and made predominantly of orange and blue tones. He is flanked by city buildings. The words "'Til all are one" are scrawled in yellow bottom right and the film's title appears in white and red letters, bottom center. The rear panel depicts Optimus Primal in a very similar pose, with similar colors, and in a similar location. The same words appear, but in green and on the left. The spine is black with the film's title in white and red, center. A white Paramount logo appears at the top.

Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features character portraits depicting the Maximals on the left in front of a mountainous jungle environment and the Autobots on the right in front of a blue background.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation  3.5 of 5

This is a good looking SteelBook, but the movie inside is just so-so. It certainly looks very good on UHD but could stand beefier audio. It does include a healthy number of extras. Worth a look.
