Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman August 22, 2020
Paramount and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for Director Michael Bay's 2009 Summer Popcorn extravaganza
'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.' The disc included is identical to disc one from the 2009 wide release but this SteelBook does not include the second bonus disc. See
the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

The SteelBook is shiny and smooth; it will attract and display fingerprints. The front cover depicts Optimus Prime filling most of the real estate, looking
forward with right arm raised as if ready to punch an enemy. To his right and below (the SteelBook's bottom left) one can see Sam and Mikaela running
away from a pyramid with a
sun rising behind it and a yellow sky above. The film's title appears top center in silvery letters in that familiar Transformers font. The text "A
Michael Bay Film" has been placed above. The front image is framed by a dark border on all four sides. The rear panel is glossy dark blue with silvery
Autobot
and
Deception logos, the former placed above the latter, both center. At the bottom are Hasbro and Paramount logos as well as some legalese and the
"SteelBook" emblem. The
spine is simply black with the film's title center. Paramount and Blu-ray logos appear at the top and bottom, respectively.
Inside, the lone Blu-ray disc can be found on a central hub on the right-hand side. The inner print is simply offers nothing more than a brushed metal
surface.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen begins the series' descent into mediocrity and, eventually, awfulness. This SteelBook released several
years after the initial two-disc special edition. It includes superior packaging but does away with the second Blu-ray bonus disc. Those who just care
about the movie and the packaging will find this to be a good addition to the collection but those concerned with bonus features will want to pass.
