Released on the same day as Disney's standard 4K/Blu-ray combo pack, this Digipak Collector's Edition of Pixars's Toy Story 4 is exclusive to Target, both in-store and online. It's a classy design that should appeal to collectors and includes a handsome Gallery Book with character and location concept artwork, an introduction from director Josh Cooley, and a few short comic book stories, although all of the on-disc and digital content is identical to the standard 4K version. Similarly priced to its regular counterpart, this is a low-risk limited edition upgrade that won't last long.

This three-disc release is housed in a colorful fold-out Digipak case with one overlapping hub and one standard hub (see picture below). The "group photo" design of this variant front cover feels a little uninspired -- it's very similar in tone to the standard 4K edition, with slightly different character poses and a sunset background replacing the standard edition's more prominent carnival location. After removing the outer slipcover, which also includes a descriptive J-card, the interior case features paneled images of main characters that also extend to both cards behind the disc trays; not pictured are Ducky, Bunny, and Duke Caboom. All three discs feature artwork identical to the standard 4K edition.
Also tucked inside is a a square-bound Gallery Book with different covers on each side (see photos #6 and 7).

Though Toy Story 4 is clearly the fourth best film in Pixar's most beloved franchise, it's still a very entertaining and worthwhile adventure that fans will enjoy. Any variant of Disney's 4K edition offers the best A/V presentation currently available and a solid collection of extras, with Target's exclusive limited Digipak Collector's Edition one-upping the standard release with deluxe packaging. (Unless, of course, you prefer Steelbooks.) It's a nice set priced similarly to the regular 4K edition...so if you haven't bought Toy Story 4 yet, this low-risk upgrade is worth the extra cash.
