Both ship in SteelBooks whose designs are exclusive to this set, and the box includes plenty of additional swag. This box is on the large side, measuring approximately 13.75" long, 9" high, and 2.6" deep. The box has a nice weight, heft, and sturdiness to it. The
front, top, and flap are made to resemble a jet fighter exterior with some key elements in view: the call sign, a warning, and a star. The sides and
back are blank (underneath a glued-on info sheet and minus a studio logo at the bottom on the back). This is meant to be displayed front-forward.
The flap attaches magnetically. The box opens to reveal, under the lid, some more design cues from a fighter jet exterior. The two SteelBooks are
found immediately in a removeable tray. The SteelBooks are jet fighter gray with the title in red at the top and images of Tom Cruise's Maverick
center
in black and white. The rear panels depict the key fighter jet from each film center. The spines are black with the film title in white. The
SteelBook interiors are blank and gray.
Underneath is the swag. First are four coaster advertising "The Hard Deck" bar. These look great, but they are not going to hold up to intended use.
They are flimsy and thin and will not withstand getting wet. These are the only disappointing items in the box. Fans will also find dog tags with chain;
the film's title appears on one and "Mitchel, Pete: 'Maverick'" on the other. A well-made and thick brown leather, diamond shaped two-piece keychain
with "Maverick" stamped
into it is also included. Also included is a thick magnet sheet with four removeable magnets that punch out from the larger piece. Finally is a
collection of high-quality photos that are reprints of various pictures seen throughout both films. They are printed on glossy photo paper and well
worth framing to scatter around the movie room!

This boxed set is not perfect, but for the serious Top Gun fan it comes close: both films on UHD in exclusive SteelBook packaging is the highlight, but the treasure trove of goodies are of very high quality beyond the disappointing coasters. Now that the price is coming down to Earth, this boxed set earns my highest recommendation.
