Paramount has released a 4K SteelBook for the hit 1986 film 'Top Gun.' This is the second 4K SteelBook for the film, following on the heels of the December 2020 release. This also appears to share a design with this Blu-ray SteelBook from 2016 (though I did not review that one and cannot confirm). The technical and supplemental details are unchanged between releases. See below for more on this SteelBook's look and feel.

This new UHD SteelBook release of Top Gun shows an iconic, patriotic image depicting Cruise's Maverick standing face forward, in his flight
suit, helmet under left arm, with a somewhat austere look on his face. An American flag is behind him. The film's title, and Cruise's name, appear
center. There's a nice, mild metallic look to the silvery accents on the title and name. The rear panel features two F-14 fighter jets in the foreground,
flying in
formation, and few more jets in the background. The spine is reminiscent of the front, with the film's title center, a white Paramount logo at the top,
and white UHD and Blu-ray logos at the bottom, again with the American flag background.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features an iconic image of Maverick seated his jet's cockpit, giving a thumbs
up. He's firmly on the left and mostly open sky and a bit of the transparent cockpit on the right.

Did the world really need another Top Gun UHD SteelBook? Probably not, but if you subscribe to the "more the merrier" mantra (not me) or you're simply a die-hard fan of the film (me), or you never picked up the first SteelBook (not me), or you just like this artwork better (me), then this definitely comes recommended, especially given the excellence of the product inside, which is what really matters at the end of the day.
