Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the hilarious 1995 Comedy 'Tommy Boy' starring Chris Farley and David Spade, directed by Peter Segal. The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the UHD wide release. This is the third time that Paramount has issued the film in this SteelBook packaging (see the 2020 FYE release and the 2022 wide release). See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

As noted above, this is the third overall release for Tommy Boy with this particular SteelBook design. There is a new Wal-Mart exclusive SteelBook with a new design, but nevertheless here is this one which is at the
"repeat"
phase of "wash, rinse, repeat."
I'll refer to the review of the other SteelBook reviews [here
(FYE
2020 release) and here (2022 wide release)] for a few words
on the overall design. The only difference here is that the previous issues were one-disc releases whereas this is a two-disc release, so rather than a
single, central hub on the right, this version offers the usual staggered-stacked method with the Blu-ray and the UHD overlapping one another, but not
stacked atop one another, on the right. Otherwise, everything else is the same.

As the old saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." That was apparently Paramount's mantra with this Tommy Boy SteelBook. It's the same thing fans have seen for half a decade now, but at least there is that Wal-Mart exclusive which might be the studio's answer to "third (and a half) time's the charm." At least the movie is great and the new UHD looks really really solid. If you own either of the older SteelBooks, I'd obviously recommend the Wal-Mart issue instead.
