Based on Harper Lee's beloved novel of the same name, the 1962 classic 'To Kill A Mockingbird' returns to 4K UHD in this Limited Edition SteelBook courtesy of Universal. The film stars Gregory Peck as southern lawyer Atticus Finch in an Academy Award winning performance, and the film itself would garner seven other Oscars including wins for Best Director, Best Picture, and Best Adapted Screenplay. This release repackages the previous standard 4K UHD release in an attractive new SteelBook with the same gorgeous 2160p presentation, and once again brings forward the legacy on-disc supplemental features. A Blu-ray disc and a Digital Code redeemable via Movies Anywhere are also included. No new on-disc supplemental material has been added. For a discussion of this new SteelBook, please scroll down to the "Special Features and Extras" section.

Though the classic film is black-and-white, the front and rear covers of the new To Kill A Mockingbird: Limited Edition SteelBook 4K feature
images that are tastefully colorized. The front finds a weary Atticus Finch sitting on his home's porch swing, with his young daughter, Scout, cuddled
snugly on his lap. The film's title is found above the pair rendered in block letters that have been graced with a gold metallic highlight. The back cover
finds Atticus seated in court. His client, Tom Robinson sits to his left. Those who crowd into the courtroom to witness the trial meld into a blur behind
them, though in the balcony, one can make out the Finch children. Universal's logo, rendered in white, is barely visible as it overlaps Atticus's hat in
the lower left corner. The spine is a simple black field with that sports the film's title in a font that is identical to that which is found on the cover,
metallic gold and all. Universal's logo is found at the bottom. There are no embossed or debossed elements. The SteelBook has a glossy finish so all
due care should be used when removing and replacing discs so as to avoid unsightly fingerprints associated with normal handling.
Opening the SteelBook, the tabs on the left hold the Digital Code. On the right side, the 4K UHD disc and the Blu-ray disc are stagger-stacked, each
on its own hub, with the 4K UHD disc on top. Removing all of the contents reveals a two panel image of the collection of objects which are special to
Scout and Jem. Those that are plainly visible include a pocket watch, a carved figurine, and a penny. The exterior and interior design of the new
SteelBook does and admirable job of depicting and characterizing those who are integral to the story, along with items that are rich with
symbolism.

for an accounting of the balance of the legacy features.

This treasure of American cinema is once again presented with a winning video presentation and a very solid DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (and 2.0) audio track housed in an attractive new SteelBook that is sure to delight fans. For those who have already purchased the film, the packaging alone may not be enough to justify a double-dip, especially when one considers that there isn't anything new with regard to what's inside its covers. But for film lovers who have yet to add this "must-own" title to their collections, or those who have yet to upgrade to the title to 4K UHD, the To Kill A Mockingbird: Limited Edition SteelBook 4K comes very highly recommended.
