Exploring Thor's relationship with the Asgardian all-father Odin, as well earthbound companion Jane Foster, “Thor: The Dark World” follows the God of Thunder to The Nine Realms beyond Asgard and earth. And as his evil half-brother, Loki, returns for Asgardian justice, a new threat rises. Also rejoining Thor are his fellow Asgardians, Lady Sif, gatekeeper Heimdall and Warriors Three, as they encounter mythical Norse creatures among evildoers.

Disney and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for 'Thor: The Dark World.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

This SteelBook matches the aesthetic on the Thor SteelBook, showing the same border work around the front and
the
same wear points along the artwork. The front panel artwork depicts Thor and Jane, huddled together, the Asgardian warrior looking into the distance
and Jane making eye contact with the camera. Various characters appear throughout the background, including Loki, Odin, Heimdal, Malekith, and
several of Thor's Asgardian warrior companions. The background is cluttered; beyond the characters is a mass of busyness that includes structures,
fireballs, armies, and the like. While there's some color in Thor's cape and a couple of the fireballs streak orange, the rest of the front panel is largely
made of various shades of blue and gray. The rear side depicts the complex circular markings that are left behind after Thor and Jane jump to Asgard.
It's surrounded by a dark blue, metallic looking backdrop that again shares the same wear marks as seen on the Thor SteelBook. The spine is
nearly
the same color as the rear panel. The film's title appears center. A Marvel Studios logo appears above the title and at the top of the spine. An
UltraHD logo can be found at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features Thor, standing predominantly on the right-hand side under the discs,
with Mjölnir held tightly in his right hand, which is extended to the left panel. There's a blurry combatant in the background, back to the camera.

This is a nice SteelBook, appropriately sharing aesthetic characteristics with other MCU UHD releases, including Thor. It might just recycle existing poster art work but it's attractive anyway. The UHD video presentation is solid enough and the Atmos soundtrack is passable though not quite up to snuff. Recommended.
