Released on Blu-ray by Umbrella Entertainment, THEM is presented in 1080p MPEG-4 AVC encoded high-definition in the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1 widescreen. The transfer is a bit of a surprise and is somewhat problematic overall. The transfer retains the authentic style of the film and manages to evoke the grittiness of the genre filmmaking.
Yet the transfer also showcases the more independent style of filmmaking (of its era) and the low-fi quality of the production methods. The filmmaking has a notably lower digital quality that is not as pristine as modern features but even so the style is well reproduced and the transfer is faithful to the original source. Umbrella Entertainment has done a solid job with a transfer that is authentic to the original theatrical presentation.

The release includes a selection of lossless audio options: French DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound and French DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0. English subtitles are provided. The lossless audio adds crispness and fine detail to the presentation. The audio soundstage offers memorable clarity and soundstaging. The soundtrack is well reproduced on the release. The subtitles are well done and are free from egregious spelling or grammatical errors.

The collectors edition release comes packaged in a deluxe chipboard art-box. The deluxe edition comes with a slipcover edition inside of the chipboard art-box (showcasing additional key artwork). The set provides a poster and a set of art cards. The release also includes a nice booklet as well.
