The Untouchables 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Martin Liebman June 2, 2022
Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the classic 1987 film 'The Untouchables.' The disc and digital content is
identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below
for
more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Paramount's SteelBook is glossy and smooth; it will show handling fingerprints on its darker portions. The front side of the SteelBook is made to look
like a design on a liquor bottle with some heavy Jack Daniels inspiration. Framed within the ornate artwork (which includes "Aged 35 Years" text center
bottom) is the film's title in white stretching along the entire front panel above the center axis. Below are the four main heroes: from left to right
George
Stone, Jim Malone, Eliot Ness, and Oscar Wallace. "A Brian De Palma" film appears above the title and below the characters are key cast names,
including
the actors who play the heroes as well as Robert De Niro's name. There are a couple of bullet holes as well. The rear panel features a similar layout but
without any text and only a small, centered portrait depicting De Niro's Al Capone. Again a few more bullet holes appear. The spine is black with the
film's title in large white letters center. A Paramount logo has been placed at the top. UltraHD and Blu-ray logos are at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone UHD disc is situated on the right on a central hub. The inner print is
a two-panel spread that features the film's quartet of heroes on horseback, all holding their guns: from left to right George Stone, Jim Malone, Oscar
Wallace, and Eliot Ness.

The Untouchables 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Great SteelBook. The "liquor" theme with bullet holes is appropriate. It might have worked better without the character portraits on the front, but it still
looks very nice. The film is one of this reviewer's favorites and the picture and sound presentations are terrific. Very highly recommended.
