CBS/Paramount has re-released the entire classic television program 'The Twilight Zone' to Blu-ray in new 'shelf-friendly' packaging and at a much lower aggregate price compared to the previous Image Entertainment releases. The 24-disc set comes packaged much like the studio's other full-series re-releases, like 'Dexter' and 'Star Trek: Enterprise.' See the supplemental section of the review for more information on the packaging.

The Twilight Zone's complete collection comes housed in the usual CBS/Paramount clear Epik Pak bulk casing, taller than the typical Blu-ray
case, but it does save a bit of width in comparison to all five individual seasons combined, about two case's worth. The presentation inside is simple,
too. A leafy
hub carries all 24 discs, with two discs per side, staggered, so to get to the second the first must be removed. The removable leaf fits perfectly into the
case with no serious jiggle. The inner print offers season-by-season and
disc-by-disc episode listings and mentions whether special features are included, though it doesn't break them down in any purposeful way.
Disc artwork has changed since the previous Image releases, and the Image logo no longer appears on-screen upon startup, but the discs are
otherwise identical:
same menu graphics, same menu options, same special features, same picture and sound. This is an externalities facelift only and a package of
convenience, not technical change.

This is a fairly standard CBS/Paramount full-series, "shelf-friendly" re-release. The packaging isn't anything at all special, but the content is great and it's a seriously tremendous bargain to own one of the all-time great TV shows in one Blu-ray package. There's absolutely no reason for owners of the previous releases to make the lateral upgrade, but newcomers who don't mind this style of packaging and who want to save a fair bit of money are encouraged to pick this set up over its season-by-season competitors. Recommended.
