Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the fan-favorite 2004 animated/live action hybrid film 'The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the (upcoming at time of writing) standard packaging wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

For those who love colorful SteelBooks, this one is really colorful. Paramount's glossy SteelBook release of The SpongeBob SquarePants
Movie is predominantly yellow and features the title character on the front, in all of his spongy yellow glory, facing forward, blue eyes wide open,
smiling, tongue sticking out. Parts of his shirt and pants are visible, and he is holding a life preserver with the film's title inside of it. The spine and rear
panel simply carry over the design, so that the back essentially looks like the character's backside. The spine does feature the film's title (in different
colors, with different design cues for each word and the Nickelodeon branding) running through the yellow portion. A black Paramount logo appears at
the top.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features more color, this time an underwater scene with SpongeBob and Patrick
on the left in the Patty Wagon. Squidward is standing on the right in a pretty and colorful area.

This is a wonderful SteelBook: it hits the right tone for the movie, it's snazzy and sure to stand out on the shelf...everything about it spot on. The new UHD looks great and the carryover audio and extras from the Blu-ray continue to delight all these years later. Highly recommended!
