Paramount has widely released a Blu-ray SteelBook packaging variant for the 2002 Horror film remake 'The Ring.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the 2012 wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Paramount's glossy SteelBook displays a snowy old-school TV image front and back that is heavily blue tinted. The front panel features Samara Morgan
emerging from a well, center. The words "Seven Days" appear above and below the well. The rear panel is similar, but the well and words are replaced
by a tree, top center, sitting across an uneven landscape running mostly along the middle of the package. A bit of white colored legalese appears along
the bottom. The spine features a black color that gives way to the blue snowy look at the bottom. The title appears scrawled in white, center. A small
Paramount logo appears in white at the top and a small white Blu-ray logo appears at the bottom. The SteelBook does ship with a slipcover that, on the
front, has the look of a worn and tattered VHS tape. The rear panel features the usual collage of content, including photos, a plot blurb, special features
and technical listings, a billing block, and so on.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone Blu-ray disc is situated on the right on a central hub. The inner print
is a two-panel spread that features an image of Samara Morgan sitting on the left in an otherwise non-descript tiled room. It is an effectively chilling
image.

This is not the first SteelBook for The Ring, and when it eventually earns a UHD release, it probably won't be the last. It's good looking, though, but do note that there's nothing new inside; the disc is the same one Paramount released back in 2012, right down to the 2012 copyright notice on the disc itself. Recommended for first-time buyers and hardcore packaging collectors.
