'The Mummy (1932) 4K' returns in this Walmart-exclusive Limited Edition SteelBook courtesy of Universal. The film which was one of the trinity (along with 'Dracula (1931) and 'Frankenstein (1931)') that started the juggernaut that would become the Universal Monsters series of films. The other landmark and nightmare-inducing films included 'The Wolf Man' (1941), 'The Invisible Man' (1933), 'The Bride of Frankenstein' (1935), and 'Phantom of the Opera' (1943) and 'Creature From the Black Lagoon (1954)'. Just in time for Halloween, 'The Mummy 4K (1932)' is the fourth entrant in the SteelBook series that features artwork from comics legend Alex Ross. All of the legacy special features are brought forward to this release. Previous releases in this series of SteelBooks include: 'Dracula (1931) 4K', 'Frankenstein (1931) 4K', and 'Creature From the Black Lagoon (1954) 4K'. A Blu-ray is also included, as is a Digital Code. Please scroll down to the 'Special Features and Extras' section below for a discussion of this new steelbook.

Comic legend Alex Ross' beautiful black-and-white art of Boris Karloff's Mummy, which fans first saw as part of his Universal Monsters series at the 2017
San Diego Comic-Con, graces the cover of this Walmart-exclusive steelbook. Centered on the front cover, the Mummy strides forth from the open
sarcophagus as a terrified man looks on. Ross's signature is in the lower right corner as usual. The back cover merely showcases the title of the film
over a greyscale field that is evocative of mist or fog. Universal's logo is positioned in the bottom left corner. Opening the SteelBook, the Digital Code is
found on the left side, held securely in place by two clips. Both discs are housed on the right side, with each disc secured on its own offset, stacked hub.
Once all of the discs and the Digital Code have been removed, a collage of images from the film is revealed, with Karloff featured in the majority of
them. Together, they reflect the atmosphere of the film. Once again, collectors will also be delighted to know that the SteelBook's matte finish does a
splendid job of resisting fingerprints associated with normal handling.

Every bit as important to cinema as Dracula (1931) or Frankensein (1931), The Mummy (1932) spawned a number of Universal sequels, several reboots, a series of films from Hammer Studios, and a raft of other films made by those hoping to leverage a similar character and/or mythology for their own supernatural tales. Few, however, capture the spirit and the atmosphere of the original, due in large part to the power of Boris Karloff's performance. Alex Ross's artwork here is again exemplary and for comic, film, and SteelBook collectors alike, Universal's Walmart-exclusive The Mummy (1932) 4K Limited Edition SteelBook comes highly recommended.
