Disney and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive UHD SteelBook release for the cherished 1994 animated film 'The Lion King.' This is
another in
Disney's
"Disney 100" line of UHD SteelBook re-releases. The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. Note that this is the second UHD SteelBook release for the film;
the
previous version released in conjunction with the film's UHD debut in
December

The Lion King 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras
Disney has released The Lion King as part of its line of "Disney 100" UHD SteelBook re-releases. The front and rear panels are smooth and
predominantly silver, which is reflective and attractive. These areas will
show a little bit
of fingerprinting. Center is a small, vertically oriented rectangular image featuring a hand-drawn Simba, playfully smiling, looking to his left, with a
gray background behind him. Above,
center, is a debossed "Disney 100" logo. Below is the film's title, again with "Disney" accompaniment, but it is neither embossed nor
debossed. The rear panel is entirely silver with the exception of a small debossed Simba cave drawing, centered. The spine is very cool. It, too, is
silver,
with
the film's title center, a Disney Blu-ray logo at the top, and a Disney 100 logo at the bottom. The Disney 100 logo is also spaced throughout the
length
of the spine in a light gray accent color.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features one of the most iconic shots not only in the film, and not only in
Disney animation, but also in all of cinema, depicting Rafiki holding up baby Simba on a Pride Rock's edge with a beautiful blue sky behind. The
characters
are firmly on the left side; the right merely offers environmental continuation.

This is a nice SteelBook that is obviously, this is aimed at serious Disney collectors who will enjoy a full shelf of these silvery beauties and it will more
than likely look great when it's matched with more of the future
releases. Recommended.
