Disney and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive UHD SteelBook release for the 2019 'live action' photorealistic CGI remake 'The Lion King.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Disney's SteelBook release of The Lion King features an orange and yellow front and rear cover, though both depict very different imagery. The
front panel portrays Mufasa (it could be Simba; it's honestly difficult to tell) against a beautiful sunrise, with orange and yellow tones behind him. The
bottom of the mane meets some red terrain where character profiles appear in silhouette, including what appears to be Pumbaa and Rafiki. There is no
text on the front and no embossing or debossing work. The rear panel depicts a crude rendition of the cub Simba as drawn by Rafiki at one point in the
movie. The depiction is surrounded by reds and yellows and assorted earthy tones, almost crayon-like in texture. The front and rear panels are smooth
but not overly glossy or slick; it will not show excess fingerprints. The spine is a flat black color with the film's title center. An UltraHD logo appears at
the top and a Disney logo at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features the cub Simba on the right looking at Zazu who is on the left. A
relaxing
African backdrop appears behind the characters.

This is a nice SteelBook. The colors are dynamic and the lack of text is only a benefit to the artwork. The inner print isn't as visually stimulating, but it's nice enough. The on-disc content is very good, but the movie is fairly mediocre. Recommended.
