What I've jokingly referred to as the Lionsgate Lottery (™?) continues to provide 4K and/or SteelBook collectors with some seemingly random choices, though my running joke about this lottery is that it seems to have been designed at times to offload "remainder" 1080 discs in "new, improved" 4K releases. In this particular instance, it's another gambit on the part of Lionsgate, namely offloading what may be both 4K UHD and 1080 "remainders", since Lionsgate already offered fans a wide release of this film with both a 4K and 1080 disc several years ago (a link to my review of that edition is posted below).

The original 4K release had no supplements on the 4K disc, and so I didn't offer a score for supplements. This disc of course repeats that same lack of supplements, but the package does offer the old 1080 disc with that allotment of bonus items (there's a link to the 1080 review in the 4K review). I've upped the score for this release based on a rather fun SteelBook design, one that offers one of the more dramatic differences between imagery offered on the Mylar O-ring and the actual SteelBook, as documented in the second of the hi res photos I've uploaded to accompany this review. If the O-Ring tends to deal more in burnishes oranges and deep yellows, there's something of a "reverse" strategy on the SteelBook, with the same general tones, but with yellow predominating. A digital copy is also included.

The Amazon exclusive SteelBooks from Lionsgate have been an eclectic bunch, but this one has a nicely distinctive design aesthetic that should appeal to collectors who may fit in the overlapping part of a Venn Diagram documenting fans of this film and fans of this packaging format.
