Universal and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for Director Leigh Whannell's superb 'The Invisible Man.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release which Universal put on the market less than four months prior to this. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Universal's The Invisible Man SteelBook rocks a Pop-art styling on its front and rear external panels which are textured and flat rather than
glossy and smooth; visible fingerprinting is not an issue. The front panel features the outline of an open rectangular door top right, with a burst of
straight-lined creamy light flowing into the scene and interrupting the dark navy blue background. Inside the streak of light is a crimson red figure, a
large shadow cast from the empty space in the doorway. It's vaguely in the form of a human, and the image wraps around the bottom of the panel
where
one can begin to see the shape of a head. At a glance, though, it almost looks like a blood trail. The film's title appears top left in the same creamy
color.
The word "Invisible" slowly begins to fade into smaller letters left to right. The rear panel is comprised of the same basic three colors. A dark navy blue
background holds what appears to be a rectangular window or door towards the right. Another thin creamy vertical line appears right next to it. Lead
character Cecilia can be seen standing on the left, back pressed against the background, looking out the window or door. Parts of her body are cream
colored, others a mixture of crimson and navy. A red Universal logo and copyright information can be seen on the bottom left while a red model
number has been placed on the bottom right. The spine is similarly styled. The dark navy background holds the film's title in the same coloring and
style as seen on the front. A red Universal logo has been placed at the bottom.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in
staggered-stacked formation. The inner print depicts a stylized, again Pop-art influenced head-and-shoulder depiction of Cecilia, much of her face and
upper body in shadow, looking over her shoulder toward the SteelBook's left side. The right side is black and blank.

This is how a SteelBook should be: greatly differentiated from wide release packaging, something with a little artistic flair and visual novelty while complimentary of the film's broad stroke narrative details, and there's no slick or glossy exterior to get mucked up by visible fingerprints. The film is terrific, as is the UHD presentation. Very highly recommend.
