The Incredibles 4K Blu-ray Movie Review
Incredible SteelBook, Underwhelming UHD.
Reviewed by Martin Liebman June 6, 2018
Disney has released the popular 2004 PIXAR film 'The Incredibles' to the UHD format in both a standard wide release and this Best Buy exclusive SteelBook. While the UHD
presentation is fairly underwhelming, the SteelBook is not. In this reviewer's estimation, it's one of the nicest to release in some time. Read on for
more details.

What a nice looking SteelBook. The artwork captures the movie's essentials beautifully. It's predominately comprised of shades of red, orange, and
yellow, with the
four (grown up enough to fight crime) members of the Parr family -- Bob, Helen, Violet, and Dash -- running towards big, menacing danger. The film's
title is prominently, but tastefully, strewn across the top of the case. Best of all, there's some serious debossing work on display. All of the five
characters as well as the title are slightly pushed inward, giving the shadowy figures some depth and the SteelBook a very agreeable texture.
The back cover is simple, with the film's logo, also partially debossed, center-cut and surrounded by a sunburst that gives way to dark red rays, all
uniformly spread and the whole thing essentially arranged in concentric circles. The spine is simple and attractive, carrying over the predominant red
with the
film's title in white in the middle, flanked at the top by Disney and PIXAR logos and a picture of Mr. Incredible and a Disney Blu-ray logo at the bottom.
Inside, the three discs are housed on both sides of the SteelBook. The left side has room for one while the right has space for two, which are
staggered-stacked. Underneath is sprawling, spiraling, increasingly enlarged text spelling out the film's title while the family car, situated predominately
on the bottom
left-hand side, is presumably speeding towards danger. Inside the car are shadow outlines of all five Parr family members and it's the only place in the
SteelBook to find a
depiction of Jack-Jack.
The Incredibles 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

It's a shame that the UHD isn't of the same quality as this SteelBook. This case will become a jewel in many collections, but the real prize -- the film on
the UHD format with 2160p/HDR video and Atoms audio -- kind of fizzles. The SteelBook is a must-own for collectors, but buyer beware of what's
inside.
