Michael Corleone, now in his 60s, seeks to free his family from crime and find a suitable successor to his empire. That successor could be fiery Vincent, but he may also be the spark that turn's Michael's hope of business legitimacy into an inferno of mob violence. This special director's cut includes a new beginning and ending, as well as changes to scenes, shots, and music cues. The resulting project reflects author Mario Puzo and director Francis Ford Coppola's original intentions for the film.

Paramount has widely released a UHD SteelBook packaging variant for the recut version of 'The Godfather: Part III,' titled 'The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on the SteelBook's look and feel.

Paramount's SteelBook release of The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone is glossy and will show handling fingerprints. On the
front is a beautifully rendered portrait of an elder Michael Corleone, wearing a black suit over a white shirt, with a fiery red-orange-yellow background.
It's very well done. The rear panel is black with a golden colored quote in large letters, center: "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in."
Logos and legalese stretch across the bottom in the same color. The spine features the film's title center. A Paramount logo appears at the top and an
obnoxiously large UltraHD logo appears at the bottom, all in the same color as the front and rear text.
Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The lone UHD disc is situated on the right on a central hub. The inner print is
a two-panel spread that features a still image collage showing key characters and moments from the film. All are in a red tinting.

a single disc set that does not
include any of the additional bonuses from the larger collections.
This is a fine looking SteelBook. The front panel artwork is particularly beautiful. The film is, in this cut, is terrific, and the UHD is top-notch. Very highly recommended for packaging collectors, but serious fans of the film should look into editions with a superior array of bonus content.
