In a world of exploitation filmmakers, there was only one Doris Wishman. She didn’t have much money to make her movies, and technical skill is open for debate, but Wishman had a desire to provide as much sexploitation entertainment as possible during her lengthy career. AFGA and Something Weird look to celebrate the career of the helmer with the Blu-ray release of “The Films of Doris Wishman: The Twilight Years,” which collects seven features for fans, and those looking to better understand how this particular world of male-dominated filmmaking looked from a female perspective.
