Lionsgate is partnering with Best Buy once again to offer exclusive SteelBook packaging for previously released titles, in this case the trifecta of The Expendables 4K, The Expendables 2 4K, and The Expendables 3 4K (see the seventh photo I've uploaded to accompany this review to view all three SteelBooks).

As with the original 4K UHD release, that disc sports no supplements. The 1080 disc has the same supplements included in Lionsgate's original release in that format. My score above reflects the dearth of supplements on the 4K UHD disc, while adding a point for the SteelBook packaging, which includes a nice matte finish with a slate gray background that offers a somewhat comically "armed" crow on the front and a memorable quote on the back, in packaging that is quite similar to the SteelBook editions of the first two films. There's not a ton to the interior panels, as can be seen in the fourth photo I've included with this review. A digital copy is included, and as the photos disclose, there's a mylar 0-Ring, in this case in a rather striking blue tone.
The law of diminishing returns catches up with this third entry, which boasts the least effective 4K UHD video presentation, but still has some fun audio elements. The SteelBook packaging will no doubt appeal to collectors, and the three releases together make for a rather handsome collection.
