The Equalizer 3 4K (2023)

Since giving up his life as a government assassin, Robert McCall has struggled to reconcile the horrific things he’s done in the past and finds a strange solace in serving justice on behalf of the oppressed. Finding himself surprisingly at home in Southern Italy, he discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do: become his friends’ protector by taking on the mafia.

Sony and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive SteelBook release for the 2023 action sequel film 'The Equalizer 3.' Sony's matte SteelBook features on its front panel Robert McCall, center, facing forward, and looking stoic; standing in front of a stylized background with a couple of Italian landmarks behind him and the Italian flag waving bottom right with some embers floating about bottom left. The rear panel is also stylized in a hand-drawn fashion with a bottle of wine, a glass of wine, and a spilled glass of wine which just happens to be spilled into the shape of the blind Lady Justice. The spine continues the color scheme which bridges the front and back panels. The film's title appears in white, center (the "3" is in red), while a white Columbia logo appears at the bottom.

Inside, the digital copy code is tucked underneath the left-hand-side tabs. The two discs, one UHD and one Blu-ray, are situated on the right in staggered-stacked formation. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features McCall's watch on the right, his right hand holding it around the dial. The left side is dark with lighter streaks extending from the bottom left.

This is a fairly forgettable SteelBook in terms of its core design. It's kind of boring but basically effective. The rear panel is definitely the highlight. The film is so-so, but the A/V presentation is top-notch.
