Sony and Best Buy have collaborated on a "Project Pop Art" UHD SteelBook release for Director Antoine Fuqua's sequel Action film 'The Equalizer 2' starring Denzel Washington. This SteelBook release includes the same two discs that are included in the film's wide release UHD: the film on UHD and Blu-ray, the latter of which includes various supplements. For more on this SteelBook's look and feel, see the 'Special Features and Extras' section below for more detail.

The SteelBook, part of the popular "Project Pop Art" line from Best Buy, is impressively constructed. The film's title is spelled out along the front and
on
the spine in white with a stylistic representation of the letter "Z" in Equalizer, which has been replaced by a red number "2." "Denzel
Washington" appears in small print at the very top of the case.
Texturally, the SteelBook is a little gruffer and grittier than many. It won't fingerprint. The front of the packaging features an attractive head
rendering
of the film's hero, Robert McCall (Denzel Washington), which is highly detailed. Several blocky red streaks appear behind him, perhaps reflecting the
film's bloody tale of personal revenge. On the rear is another impressively rendered image featuring McCall setting his watch to time himself as he
takes on a few bad guys. The detail, particularly on the watch but also the fingers, is striking. A red-dominant cityscape appears at the top, and an
artist signature appears at the bottom. The spine is black across the top two-thirds. The film's title is about center and a Sony Pictures logo appears at
the bottom. Red streaks form the back side carry over to the the spine's bottom portion.
Inside, the UHD and Blu-ray discs share the right
hand
side in staggered-stacked formation. There is no inner artwork; both panels are simply emblazoned in an attractive and somewhat glossy red
color. The Movies Anywhere
digital copy flyer is also bundled inside underneath the left-hand side tabs.

The Equalizer 2 is a serviceable sequel, nowhere near as good as the original but solid entertainment as it is. The SteelBook is very reminiscent of that recently released for the 4K debut of the original film. The two do not share a color scheme but they do share an artistic vision and both are very handsome. The UHD inside delivers good video and terrific audio. Several extras are included as well. Recommended; both Equalizer SteelBooks are well worth owning.
