The Dead Pool (1988)

Fame isn't San Francisco Detective Harry Callahan's style. He'd rather not be lumped in with a rocker, a film critic and a talk-show host. They're slain celebrities named in a mysterious betting pool. And Harry just joined the list. Clint Eastwood straps on his holster again for the fifth and final Callahan caper. This time Harry's new partner is a karate wiz. The Mafia goons sworn to snuff Harry now scramble to protect him. And in the nuttiest City by the Bay vehicular chase since Bullitt, Harry puts pedal to the metal t outrace a bomb-carrying, radio-controlled toy car. It's a great showcase for two future stars: Jim Carrey is marvellous as an ill-fated heavy-metal musician and Liam Neeson hits the mark as a power-tripping director. For hard-hitting action, dive into this cool pool.
