The Charge of the Light Brigade (1968)

Nominated for six BAFTA Awards, The Charge Of The Light Brigade is a thoroughly researched and uniquely presented depiction of the disastrous cavalry charge by the British against the Russians at the Battle of Balaclava, during the Crimean War of 1854. Tersely written and adroitly executed, the film illustrates the foolhardiness of the British aristocracy and the tragic loss of life that occurred as a result.
