The Butcher Boy (1997)

In a small town in Ireland in the 1960s, colorful 12-year-old Francie Brady is the only child of an alcoholic failed musician and his wife, a woman driven mad by despair and abuse. As he comes of age without the guidance and love of responsible adults, he grows more unstable and blames a bourgeois and rude neighbor, Mrs. Nugent, for his woes.
