Marvel Studios and Best Buy have collaborated on a new line of SteelBook re-releases for several Marvel films, including 'The Avengers,' 'Ant-Man,' 'Captain America: Civl War,' and 'Avengers: Age of Ultron.' The artwork, courtesy of alternative artwork designer Matt Ferguson, is, generally, relatively unassuming but at the same time largely gorgeous and a nice change of pace from the typical character collages. The discs are simply ports of previous releases, so these releases are only for hardcore SteelBook collectors or first-time buyers.

The SteelBook, which is prone to fingerprinting, features a gaggle of silhouetted characters in action poses:
Hawkeye, Black Widow, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, and Hulk. Stark Tower and the surrounding skyline appear in the background, and several
concentric circles surround the top of the tower. The characters are standing on ground, which gives way to a solid black bottom third or so of the
SteelBook where the film's embossed
title appears.
The spine is an attractive silver color across the top two-thirds or so with the black terrain from the front wrapping around. "Marvel Studios" appears in
small type at the top. The film's title appears near-center. A blue Avengers logo is situated near the top of the black surface area and a
Blu-ray disc logo appears on the bottom. The release ships with a basic removable card with a few identifying markers on the front, including artist
name and Best Buy exclusivity on the top and Marvel Studios "ten years" logo at the bottom. A flat black top and a basic rear-panel listing, which
includes a
movie synopsis, special features listing, credits, and an image collage, also comprise parts of the card. Underneath the card, the terrain wraps around
and the various structures line
the middle with a pair of alien vessels hovering against the skyline. A silver Avengers logo appears center-top. The entirety of the back panel is
blue-tinted.
Inside, the single disc is situated on the right-hand side. The inner print is very basic. It's essentially reflective of the outside's image properties: the
terrain, the posed characters, and the Avengers logo from the rear. The main difference is that the title has been moved to the top above the
characters.
Everything that was in color on the front and back are blue, and everything else is black.

Matt Ferguson's SteelBooks are undeniably very attractive, but they release at a time when the films have been on the market for some time, when Civil War and Ant-Man have previously released in the SteelBook format, and The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron are soon re-releasing in 4K UHD SteelBooks alongside Infinity War. That makes these, as attractive as they are, somewhat superfluous. But there are several potential audiences, as small as they may be: hardcore SteelBook collectors, first-time buyers for any or all of these movies, and those who don't care about future 4K re-issues, whether announced or unannounced. All that said, these are first-rate SteelBook releases that, for anyone interested in their collectibility, come highly recommended.
