The Avengers 4K Blu-ray Movie Review

This Mondo X SteelBook release of The Avengers 4K done in partnership with Wal-mart is once again, as with any number of other recent
SteelBook releases done in tandem with the giant retailer, a repetition of specialty SteelBook
packaging of this film to have been released. A Best Buy
exclusive looks like it was offered day and date with the standard packaging wide release. Another SteelBook in our database doesn't have any online presence that I could find as a standalone release (it looks like it was
part of a four film collection).

On disc supplements are detailed in the above linked reviews. This SteelBook offers a distinctly different design aesthetic than the old Best Buy
SteelBook, and without posting "spoilers", fans may be surprised to see who's featured and at what relative size on the front panel. Kind of
interestingly, while the Best Buy SteelBook probably offered a more traditional "poster art" character gallery, it also was nicely suffused with blues,
while this new SteelBook tamps down the palette quite a bit, offering a predominance of kind of slate gray hues. In that regard, the back panel may
actually offer a bit more pop, though the red on display itself has a kind of gray undertone. I've shown the mylar O-ring next to the SteelBook in the
second photo, and then have offered looks at the O-ring on the SteelBook in the third and fourth photos. This particular O-ring frankly adds relatively
little to the mix (in case it can't quite be made out, the only element on the back side is a silver "fingerprint" shaped disc). In a nice departure from a
kind "meh" norm,
the interior panels have a fun depiction of Thor and The Hulk. Discs also carry the Mondo X branding along with artwork. A digital copy is also included.

Just doing some cursory "comparison shopping" online revealed some pretty hugely disparate prices being asked for the older Best Buy SteelBook,
which may make this newer offering from Wal-mart a more wallet friendly option. The Mondo X packaging is very handsome, if maybe a little surprising
in terms of decisions about which characters to feature the most prominently. Recommended.
