Shiina Kazuya is brutally murdered when he intervenes to save the life of a dear friend. The gods must appreciate Shiina more than expected: playing the heroes role has some perks after all. Shiina finds himself magically reincarnated as the young 3-year-old boy, Cain (Yoshino Nanjō). Now a young boy, Cain discovers a whole new world surrounds him. Shiina’s former land of violence and a heroes death becomes replaced with something more magical.
Cain is only a young lad but he is already learning the ropes of magic and the potential powers that reside within him. As a boy treasured and protected by the mighty gods, Cain has a new role ahead of him – one with magic in his wake. Cain could become the most powerful magician of all if he plays his cards right. Is being bestowed with the potential to be the most powerful magician the world has ever seen a blessing or a curse?
Cain is a compelling lead character for the anime. The character might be young but he is mightier than his years. The hero is a young boy with a sense of magic and a thirst for adventure. Audiences may find the heroes journey one that is relatable with the young lad trying his best to conquer the world of all magic.

The character designs by Eri Tokugawa (Rainy Cocoa in Hawaii, Rainy Cocoa SideG) do an outstanding job of highlighting the almost chibi-like character designs featured on The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far. The art styles add to the production, too. The designs certainly fit the characters and there is a lot to commend about the designs by Tokugawa.
The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far is a well animated series. The series achieves solid animation. The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far features art direction by Yukiko Ashino (Banished from the Hero's Party, Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood). The animation direction adds to the production, too.
The animators certainly provide some nice quality to the series aesthetic goals and help to round out the series art style with colorful animation, background art, and line art detail. The animators do a good job of balancing the aesthetic goals of the animation alongside the character animation. These elements certainly play a significant role in the production achieving its desired style.
The cinematography by Tetsuya Nishimura (Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms, Summoned to Another World for a Second Time) is important to the production, too. The cinematography helps with highlighting the lush visuals and the bold colors on the series. The cinematography is far lighter and elegant compared to some of the darker and more brooding aesthetic anime series out there. For audiences who appreciate a lighter aesthetic tone the cinematography on The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far certainly helps to highlight these elements inherent in the animation.
The score composed by MICHIRU (The Executioner and Her Way of Life, Suppose a Kid From the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town) is a highlight of the series. The score by MICHIRU adds something to the production and the sense of action-adventure essential to the fantasy series. A compelling addition to the world of The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far.
Written by Natsuko Takahashi (The Betrayal Knows My Name, In Another World With My Smartphone), The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far has some charm with the fun dialogue. The dialogue is one of the highlights of the series. The screenwriter has fun with the main characters and exploring the tale. The writer enjoys the fantasy elements at play, too.
Directed by Noriyuki Nakamura (Dragon Slayer, Save Me! Lollipop), The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far might not be the most original anime but it does have entertaining elements and some quality direction. The style is enjoyable and the series has some entertainment to offer action-adventure fantasy fans. Audiences looking for something fun to relax to will find enjoyment in The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far.

Released on Blu-ray by Crunchyroll, The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far - The Complete Season is presented in 1080p MPEG-4 AVC encoded high-definition in the original television broadcast aspect ratio of 1.78:1 widescreen. The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far features beautiful and bold animation reproduction. The animation has a bold and imaginative style well reproduced with the colorful animation presented on the encode. The animation and its background art and line art look clean and crisp on the release.
One of the essential elements of the Blu-ray disc format is superior video encoding compared to streaming video services. Streaming video services tend to provide lower video bit-rates when compared to physical media. Physical media provides a superior video encode with higher video bit-rates and more well-rounded presentation overall. No one has to worry about other factors, either – such as being in a rural area or having an inconsistent internet connection (or a family member who throttles the internet with high-speed video-gaming).

The release includes a selection of lossless audio options: English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and Japanese Dolby TrueHD 2.0 (with English subtitles) are the main audio selections on the Blu-ray release. The nice sound direction by Ryōsuke Naya (Adventurers Who Don't Believe in Humanity Will Save the World, The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt) is capably highlighted and preserved with the lossless audio quality. Dialogue is crisp, clear, and engaging. The lossless audio capably highlights the score. English dub fans will appreciate the surround soundstage adding some extra detail in the rear 5.1 surround channels and a more expansive sound mix. Regardless, purists will prefer opting for the Japanese language version. The original language version is more authentic to the original version, featuring crisp encoding, too. The English subtitles are well done and are free from egregious spelling or grammatical errors.
The Blu-ray format excels with superior audio encoding. One of the hallmarks of the Blu-ray disc format is the lossless audio encoding. Lossless audio provides higher bit-rates and superior bit-depth compared to the streaming video services.
Streaming video services only provide lossy (non-lossless) audio. The audio encoding on streaming is more compressed and with a limited dynamic range compared to physical media. Blu-ray provides a more expansive soundstage with crisper details and definition. Audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts appreciate the difference the physical format offers.

The release includes a well-designed o-card slipcover. The limited-edition slipcover features unique key artwork on the front of the slipcover. The slipcover artwork adds a nice touch to the release.
The artwork featured underneath the slipcover is different and it looks nice alongside the slipcover art. Getting the combination of "double art" with the slipcover and main cover-art adds to the collectability of the release. Slipcover fans will appreciate the slip and what it adds to the release. It makes the set packaging a nicer collectable.
On disc extras include:
Character Trailers (HD, 3:32)
Promo Videos (HD, 3:31)
Textless Opening Song (HD, 1:31)
Textless Closing Song (HD, 1:31)
The one downside of the release is the lackluster supplemental package. The supplementals on the release could have been much better overall. The bonus features package only includes a selection of standard bonus features. The release could have been more well-rounded for collectors with some audio commentaries, behind-the-scenes documentaries, making-of featurettes, cast/crew interviews, photo galleries, and more.

The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far - The Complete Season offers an action-packed fantasy adventure for anime fans. The series features a bold aesthetic with colorful animation and a vibrant style. The production values add to the charm of the series.
The Blu-ray release provides a solid high-definition presentation alongside lossless audio. The release comes with a nice limited print-run slipcover, too. The slipcover is only available on the first print run. Unfortunately, the bonus features are quite sparse and the release could have been a more well-rounded package in that regard. Nonetheless, series fans may wish to consider adding the release to their collection. Recommended.
