Swedish Boarding School Girls Blu-ray Movie Review
Reviewed by Kenneth Brown January 7, 2025
I knew exactly which movie had arrived. My wife, from downstairs, laughed while opening Amazon packages before quipping, "is there something you
want to tell me?" Wonderful. Swedish Boarding School Girls had arrived. I laughed back but the embarrassment was in full bloom. My guilty
pleasures are films like Cocaine Bear and The Blackening. SBSG, a barely softcore bit of light porn that's about as porny as
you can get without depicting penetration? Ugh, no thanks. So this review will be oh so brief. If you've clicked through to this review, chances are
you're already apart of the target demographic. If so, enjoy. The video quality alone will delight. If, however, your morbid curiosity has brought you
here, join me in moving on to some other film. For those whose guilty pleasures include the bizarro nudefest of Swedish Boarding School
Girls, read on...

Erwin C. Dietrich's
Swedish Boarding School Girls (1979) follows the lives of students at a small Swiss girls' boarding school, where six
free-spirited blond women -- Greta, Inga, Kerstin, Lil, Astrid and Selma -- lead a care-free life where they spend their time twisting men around their
sexual fingers. The definitely NSFW flick stars Brigitte Lahaie, Nadine Pascal, France Lomay, Danielle Troger, and Kathleen Kane. As for the nudity, well,
it comprises more than 50% of the movie, so I guess this is where I exit and the rest of you get your kink on.
Swedish Boarding School Girls Blu-ray Movie, Video Quality

The one genuine surprise with Swedish Boarding School Girls is its 1080p/AVC-encoded video presentation. As the opening credits began, I
rolled my eyes at the obvious print damage visible at the lefthand side of the screen. Great, here we go, I thought. But then the film proper started and
I was stunned. Not by the nudity, which is rampant, but by the technical quality of the image. Contrast is a touch on the light side but otherwise,
everything is as it should be. Colors are vivid and natural, skintones extremely lifelike, black levels deep and satisfying, and primaries full of subtle pop.
Detail is especially impressive for a late '70s flick of SBSG's nature. Edges are clean and perfectly defined, with no visible halos or
macroblocking anywhere. Fine textures are well-resolved -- to the point of being more revealing than the disrobed Swedish beauties -- and everything
from small, nearly invisible body hair, pores, freckles and birthmarks are precisely reproduced. Add to that a lack of banding, compression artifacts and
other issues and you have a near-perfect presentation. Had the lingering print specks been eliminated (infrequent as they are), this might have earned
higher marks.
Swedish Boarding School Girls Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality

Swedish Boarding School Girls only offers a lossy 192kbps Dolby Digital 2.0 stereo mix. Dialogue is decently conveyed and prioritization is
serviceable, but between music and ambient air hiss, it isn't the most polished track. Dynamics are poor as well, though I'm sure this is all very faithful
to the original sound design. Even a lossless track would've only bumped this up a half-point at most. It's barely adequate, though, as is.

The only extra included in this, erm, bare release is a trailer.
Swedish Boarding School Girls Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation

Swedish Boarding School Girls. Just take in that title and know if you venture further, that's exactly what you'll get. Culled from 1979 and as
close to hardcore as softcore comes (pardon the pun), this one is for its niche demographic only. However, those who do enjoy their smut with a side of
quality will be impressed with the Blu-ray's terrific video presentation. Audio is a lossy slog and there aren't any extras to speak of, but I doubt either
one is what you come to SBSG to find.
