What if baby Kal-El's rocket landed, not in Kansas, but in the Soviet Union? That is the premise of this Elseworld's tale from DC Comics.

Warner Brothers and Best Buy have collaborated on a store exclusive action figure release for the animated film 'Superman: Red Son.' The disc and digital content is identical to that found in the wide release. See the 'Special Features and Extras' section of the review below for more on packaging details and figure specifics.

The movie and figure ship in an oversized box that measures approximately 5.5" wide, 6.75" high, and 1.6" deep. The front box artwork features a clear
display window on the right, showcasing the figure in-packaging. Artwork similar to the retail product appears on the front left. Sides and top are
practically
identical, all depicting the film's title and the sides adding the familiar 4K UltraHD logo at the top. On the bottom is some legalese and a sticker
denoting
the package's limited edition nature. The rear panel is essentially identical to the retail slipcover but does feature a slightly different
location for the UPC. Inside the box is the aforementioned retail packaging, complete with a non-embossed slipcover.
The figure measures about 4" in height. It depicts Superman in subdued dark gray and dark red attire with the Hammer and Sickle chest insignia. The
character cannot be posed. He stands rigid and
straight, muscles pumped up and out. He's facing firmly and almost formally forward, legs straight, arms at side, fists clenched. He's not in a fighting
stance or flying pose, but he could very well transition to one or the other at a moment's notice. He stands on a base that measures approximately 1.5"
wide and 1" deep. On the
bottom is a bit of legalese and notice that the figure was manufactured in China.

Red Son may not be a movie on the rise, but it's capable revisionist history diversion that now includes a single pose action figure. It looks fine but it's rather bland when it comes right down to it, kind of like the movie. At least the UHD presentation is rock-solid. Worth a look.
