Overview
Sun, Sand and Sweat: 4-Movie Collection (1983-1985)
Adam Stern (Perry Lang) and Nelson Dalby, Jr. (David Knell) are naive college students who have come to Fort Lauderdale for Spring Break. Due to a mix-up at their motel, the boys end up in the same room with Stu (Paul Land) and O. T. (Steve Bassett), a pair of experienced guys from New York. Stu and O. T. coach the boys on the finer points of seduction—with mixed results—and all the guys band together to help the nice owner of their sleazy hotel; all the while, Nelson tries to outwit his stepfather, a politician who sends his campaign workers to track the boy down to rein him in and ruin Spring Break!

Reviewed by Brian Orndorf March 15, 2016Mill Creek’s “Sun, Sand & Sweat” Blu-ray release combines three prime examples of teen cinema interests found throughout the 1980s: “Hardbodies,” “Private Resort,” and “Spring Break.” And, for reasons that might fall under the label “sweat,” “Perfect” is included as well, adding a touch of maturity to a BD set primarily devoted to the observation of bare breasts. It’s an odd mix of titles, but they all tend to grasp the same level of escapism, focusing on warm temperatures, golden beaches, and sensational bodies. While creative quality isn’t ideal, the features certainly put up a fight, laboring to supply enough mischief to fuel a rainy day marathon, with the added bonus of seeing a few stars before their eventual multiplex omnipresence.

Sun, Sand and Sweat: 4-Movie Collection Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation
The movie selection isn't the problem here, it's the nonexistent TLC Mill Creek has put into the Blu-ray set, with each title in dire need of remastering and, in the case of "Perfect," a restoration of its original aspect ratio. As pleasant as the visual highlights of these features are, the thrill is muted by disappointing presentations, robbing the viewer of the HD immersion required to sit through what passes for a sense of humor in these productions.
