We normally don't review store exclusive titles that are also being widely distributed by way of a standard edition sold at all outlets, but with the immense popularity of the 'Star Wars' franchise and Episode VII in particular, we've decided to offer a real-world glimpse at the four store exclusives available to buy beyond the standard wide release, which has been reviewed here. Skip below to the "Supplements" section on this page for a review of the Disney Store exclusive.

The Episode VII exclusive sold through The Disney Store arrives with the same basic black-case packaging, plus standard slipcover, available widely. Content inside the case is identical, too, containing the film and bonus features on two Blu-ray discs and a DVD copy of the film. The Disney digital copy voucher is also present. What sets this set apart, however, is the inclusion of the most impressive store exclusive of the four, a large, embossed folder, measuring 14.5" in length and 10.5" in height, containing four lithographs. The front side presents the embossed Star Wars lettering with character images inside each letter, all set against a standard star field background (essentially identical to the Blu-ray's slipcover). The folder opens from the back side by way of a large cut-out featuring BB-8, the popular new droid introduced in the movie. The lithographs themselves are impressive and suitable for framing, presenting with a white border around the image and printed on thick stock. Included are images of several TIE Fighters against a sun, an image of Rey and BB-8 on Takodana, an image of Han Solo and Chewbacca making their first appearance in the film, and an image of Kylo Ren with lightsaber drawn. Each lithograph comes with a gold stamp on the bottom left-hand corner denoting the exclusivity to the Disney store.
The Disney Store exclusive is arguably the most impressive of the bunch. While the disc itself is the vanilla release available everywhere, the lithographs look great (unfortunately, my copies arrived with a small bend in the top right corner) and the folder housing them is large enough, and of a high enough quality, to itself be worthy of display. This set is a must-own for fans who want to invest a little extra money and pick up proper frames for each lithograph.
