Paramount has released a six-film UHD/Blu-ray collection of the original six 'The Original Series' 'Star Trek' films. This six-film set comes hot on the heels of Paramount's four-film UHD/Blu-ray collection which included the first four films but not 'The Final Frontier' or 'The Undiscovered Country.' This set also adds the Director's Edition version of 'The Motion Picture.' Otherwise, the discs from the first four films are identical to those from the previous issue. Star Trek: The Original Motion Picture 6-Movie Collection 4K Blu-ray Movie, Audio Quality

Star Trek: The Original Motion Picture 6-Movie Collection 4K Blu-ray Movie, Special Features and Extras 

Note that there is nothing particularly special about the packaging. The UHD and Blu-ray discs ships inside a standard quality slip box. The artwork on the front is all but identical to the 2021 4-film boxed set. The only difference is a little bit of extra Photoshop work adding character portraits for Sybok and General Chang, highlighting a couple of other minor changes. Blu-ray and UHD discs are packaged in their own extra-thick Amaray cases with practically identical artwork.

Star Trek: The Original Motion Picture 6-Movie Collection 4K Blu-ray Movie, Overall Score and Recommendation 

This is the set that should have been released a year ago. There is not much point driving home the point which fans have driven home for the past year, but for those who smartly waited out the last set for this one, well, it's here, and it's worth every penny. Everything here looks and sounds terrific, the movies are great, and supplements will last for days on end. All that's missing is a SteelBook boxed set alternative. Very highly recommended!
